Introduction
Our privacy policy (the «Privacy Policy») explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and how to manage your privacy settings and your rights in connection with our websites and related mobile applications and services (collectively, the «Services»). Please also refer to our Terms of Service which describes the terms and conditions for the Services.

Unless otherwise indicated, this privacy policy does not apply to third-party products or services or the practices of companies we do not own or control, including other companies with which you may interact on or through the Services.

Information collected by Cyql
Cyql collects information about you, including information that directly or indirectly identifies you, if you or your other members choose to share it with Cyql. We receive information in a few different ways, including when you follow, complete or upload activities using the Services. Cyql also collects information about how you use the Services. There are also various ways you can share information about yourself, your friends and your activities with Cyql. For example:

Account, profile, activity and usage information
We collect basic information about your account such as your name, email address, date of birth, gender, username and password which are used for security and your access to our Services.

Profile, activity and usage information is collected about you when you choose to upload or post a photo, activity, sign up for a challenge, add your device usage, view others’ activities or otherwise use the Services.

We use your contact details to respond to your support requests and comments.

Location information
We collect and process location information when you sign up for and use the Services. We do not track the location of your device when you are not using Cyql, but in order to provide Cyql’s core services, it is necessary for us to track the location of your device while you are using Cyql. If you wish to stop device location tracking, you can do so at any time by adjusting your device settings.

Content you share
We collect information from the photos, posts, comments and other content you share through the Services.

Health information
Cyql does not use your personal health data in any way.

Payment information
When you make a payment on Cyql, you may provide payment information such as your payment card or other payment details. We use certified third-party payment services from the payment card industry and do not store your credit card information.

Third Party Accounts
Cyql allows you to register and login to the Services using accounts you create with third-party products and services, such as Facebook, Google or Apple (collectively «Third Party Accounts»). When you access the Services through Third Party Accounts, we collect the information you choose to make available, such as your name, email address, profile information and preferences. The information is collected by the third-party account provider and is provided to Cyql in accordance with its privacy policy. You can generally manage the information we receive from these sources using the privacy settings in your third-party account.

Technical information and log files
We collect information from your browser, computer or mobile device. These tools provide us with technical information when you access or use the Services. This technical information consists of device and network information, cookies, log files and analytical information. You can read more about how we use cookies and how we manage your preferences in our Cookie Policy.

The Services use log files. The information stored in these files includes IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp and number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, manage, protect and secure Services and track members’ movements in a bundled fashion and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses may be linked to session IDs, athlete IDs and device IDs.

Other information
We may collect information from you through third parties, such as when we collect your feedback through surveys.

We may also collect information about you from other members, such as when they post comments on joint activities.

The way Cyql uses information
Cyql uses the information we collect and receive as described below.

To provide the Services
We use the information we collect and receive to provide the Services, including to offer the following features:

  • Your activities, in which you participate. capture.
  • Interacting with other athletes. For example, to interact with other athletes by using the modules within the mobile application(s).
  • Discovering new places to go. For example, to point athletes to noteworthy locations during an activity.
  • To visualise your activities in new ways.

Subject to your privacy settings, your information, including parts of your profile, username, photos, members you follow and who follow you, clubs you are a member of, your activities and comments you give and receive, will be shared on Cyql in order to participate in the Services, for example to show your place on a listing.

To customise your experience
We use the information we collect about you, your followers and your activities to personalise your experience. For example, we suggest personal preferences (think speed) that might interest you, athletes you might want to follow, or new features you might want to try. For example, if we know you like to cycle, we may inform you about cycling activities or we may show you sponsored content related to cycling. If we note that you cycle in a particular region, we may suggest a cycling competition in that region.

To protect you and the Services
We use the information we collect to protect members, enforce our Terms of Service and Community Standards, and promote safety. For example, we find and remove content that violates our Terms, such as hate speech or spam, and suspend or terminate accounts that share such content.

To improve our Services
We also use your information to analyse, develop and improve the Services. To this end, Cyql uses third-party analytics providers to understand how our Services are used and to help us improve the Services.

To communicate with you
We use the information we collect to provide support in response to your requests and comments.

We may also use the information collected to offer and promote our Services, activities and events on Cyql and other commercial products or Services. This includes marketing and push notifications, where you have not opted out of receiving such messages and notifications.

To process your membership
We use the information we collect to process your membership.

How information is shared
In addition to sharing information about our members, as described above, we may also share personal data in accordance with your preferences, where necessary to conduct our business activities and provide our Services, and where required for legal purposes, as described below.

Service providers
We may share your information with third parties that provide Services to Cyql, such as supporting, enhancing, promoting and securing the Services, advertising the Services, processing payments or fulfilling orders. These service providers are given access only to the information they need to perform these limited tasks on our behalf and are required to protect and safeguard your information. We may also use service providers to collect information on our behalf about your use of the Services over time so that we or they can promote Cyql or display information that matches your interests in the Services or other websites or services.

Publicly available information
When you join the Cyql community, your profile and activities are visible to everyone by default. Your name and other profile information may be viewed by other Cyql members and the public and, depending on your privacy settings, additional information and content you share may also be viewed. For example, your photos and itineraries can be accessed by other Cyql members and non-members or viewed on publicly accessible Cyql pages or in search engine results. We offer a variety of tools to manage the sharing of your information and encourage our members to customise their settings to suit their desired experience.

Exchange of information and activities
As a private social network, we share information with other Cyql members and the public in accordance with your privacy settings. You can change the visibility of the activities you upload to Cyql. You can also share your activities with your contacts via text message, email or via social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you connect your Cyql account to other social networks and share your activities, they will be visible on such third-party platforms, possibly including your location information. You should exercise caution when sharing information through third parties and you should carefully check the privacy practices of these third parties.

Affiliates and acquirers of our business or assets
We may share your information with affiliates under our common control who must comply with the terms of this privacy policy with respect to your information. If Cyql becomes involved in a business combination, securities offering, bankruptcy, reorganisation, dissolution or other similar transaction, we may share or transfer your information in connection with such transaction.

Legal requirements
We may retain and share your information with third parties, such as law enforcement, public or governmental bodies or litigating individuals located in or outside your country of residence, if we determine that this is reasonably necessary to comply with laws, including to respond to a court order, arrest warrant, subpoena or other legal or regulatory process. In addition, we may retain, retain or disclose your data if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary or appropriate to prevent the death or serious bodily injury of any person, to address matters of national security or other matters of public concern, to prevent or detect violations of our Terms of Service or fraud or abuse of Cyql or its members, or to protect our business operations or our property or other legal rights, including by disclosure of data to our legal advisers and other consultants and third parties in connection with any legal proceedings or potential legal proceedings.

How we protect information
We take various measures to protect the collection, transmission and storage of the data we collect. We apply reasonable protection of your information in accordance with the sensitivity of your information. The Services use standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt personal information and credit card numbers. Cyql works with reputable parties in the field of online security, including verification of Services, to strengthen the security of our Services. In addition, Cyql’s secure servers protect this information using advanced firewall technology.

Managing your settings
Privacy settings
Cyql offers several features and settings that help you manage privacy and share your activities.

Customising preferences for notifications and email
Cyql offers several ways to manage the notifications you receive. You can choose to stop receiving certain emails and notifications by indicating your preference here. You can also unsubscribe by following the instructions at the bottom of each marketing or promotional email. All administration- or Services-related emails (to confirm a purchase or an update on this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service, etc.) generally do not provide an option to unsubscribe, as they are necessary to provide you with the Services you desire.

Updating account information
You can correct, change or update profile or account information at any time by adjusting that information in your account settings. If you need assistance in correcting information that is incorrect, please contact Cyql at support@cyql.app.

Deleting information and accounts and downloading your data
You can delete your account or download your data by contacting Cyql at support@cyql.app.

After you request deletion, we will permanently and irreversibly delete your personal data from our systems, including backups. Once you delete your account, your activities and Club membership cannot be restored. After you delete your account, it may take up to 90 days to completely remove your personal data and system logs from our systems. In addition, we may retain information when deletion requests are made to comply with the law and take other legally permitted actions.

Please note that content you have shared with others, for example photos, or that others have copied, may remain visible even after you delete your account or your own profile information. Your public profile may appear in search engine results until the search engine refreshes its cache.

Cyql also provides you with the option to delete individual activities you have posted without deleting your account. After deletion, the activities may remain on Cyql’s systems until you delete your account.

Privacy policy information
Cyql reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time. Please read it from time to time. If Cyql makes changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted on the Services in a timely manner and, if we make any material changes, we will provide prominent notice. If you object to any changes to this Privacy Policy, you may stop using the Services and delete your account.
