Cyql x Cycling Ireland: A White Label App for Cycling Ireland’s Cycling Clubs
We’re excited to announce something we’ve been working on with Cycling Ireland: a dedicated white label app for all registered cycling clubs (member clubs of Cycling Ireland). Clubs need better tools to thrive, and this partnership delivers. Cycling Ireland’s popular community cycling program leverages Cyql’s innovative platform to address the core challenges of club management:

Cycling Ireland: Enriching an Island of 26,000 Cyclists and 500 Clubs
Cycling Ireland (CI) is the National Governing Body for cycling on the island of Ireland. The organisation was founded in 1987 following the amalgamation of a number of cycling organisations. The association operates across all cycling disciplines (road cycling, indoor cycling, MTB and gravel). CI is active in promoting, developing, and organising all kinds of cycling activities.
Cycling Ireland counts over 26,000 members and approximately 500 clubs. The organisation’s vision is to develop an island enriched by cycling, a mission that we at Cyql love to support.
A Successful Pilot: Cycling Ireland's Community Bike Rides
When Cycling Ireland approached Cyql earlier this year, we together decided to partner up and launch a pilot. In this pilot, so-called Community Bike Rides were organized via the Cyql platform.
The goal of Cycling Ireland’s Community Bike Rides initiative is to bring people together through cycling. The cycling program is about free, social group rides led by trained and vetted volunteer leaders. It’s open to adults aged 18 and over regardless of cycling experience.
The volunteer ride leaders who make this happen receive free training and insurance coverage when they organize 10 or more rides annually. They learn how to plan safe routes and facilitate positive experiences for participants in their local communities.
Irish Cycling Clubs were already adopting Cyql
As the Cyql user base grew during this period, multiple Cycling Ireland clubs had already adopted Cyql as their club management platform. These early adopters quickly recognized the value of having a centralized tool to organize rides, communicate with members, and manage club activities more efficiently.
The positive feedback and organic growth among these clubs, combined with the success of the Community Bike Rides pilot, provided Cycling Ireland with strong proof of concept. It became clear that there was a real need for an all-in-one platform. It should be able to simplify administration and strengthen connections within the cycling community.
For this challenge, Cycling Ireland chose Cyql as their long-term technical partner. This marked the beginning of a deeper collaboration to help modernize and digitize cycling club management across Ireland. And we will continue to do so.
The white label Cycling Ireland App roll-out
The community bike rides pilot was an overwhelming success with hundreds of rides organized in a few months across the country. Both the Cycling Ireland organization and the ride leads saw the need for digitalisation across the cycling community.
Together with us, we took the next step in a partnership: A customized Cycling Ireland app via our white label solution. A white label app is a customizable app that keeps all its core functionality while being completely branded for a specific organization.
All Cycling Ireland clubs (500+) now have a dedicated app that carries Cycling Ireland’s branding and identity. It looks and feels like an official Cycling Ireland platform. Under the hood, it’s running on Cyql’s ride management and communication technology.
This combines our technology with a personalized user experience that feels native to the Cycling Ireland ecosystem.
What Changes for Cycling Clubs across Ireland
The new app changes how cycling clubs across Ireland organize, communicate and do what they love most: cycling. Instead of using multiple communication channels or unclear sign-up processes, clubs now have full access to advanced organization features. Think of advanced ride planning, liability waiver management, event ticketing and our GPX library. Previously, clubs relied on messy Whatsapp group chats, strava communities and email. Now, it’s all integrated in one application.
Club admins or ride leaders can send instant notifications about route changes, weather updates, or adjustments. The calendar automatically updates when rides are rescheduled.
Cyclists get access to a route library where they can store and share favorite Community Bike Ride routes. The app connects with Strava and RideWithGPS, so leaders can import existing routes directly instead of recreating them from scratch. Given the program’s island-wide reach, successful routes can be shared and adapted across different regions.
For leaders who run regular weekly or monthly rides, they can set them up once and have them automatically appear on the schedule. This eliminates the repetitive data entry that eats into time that could be spent actually leading rides.
The white label approach creates a digital experience that reflects Cycling Ireland’s vision to community building across the country. Participants interact with a platform (accessible via web and app) that feels like an integrated part of the official program.
